Rangpur

Rangpur is full of nature's mysteriousness, aesthetic beauty, adorable hillol, and vitality of nature. Another thing is Rangpur is full of colors. Is's colorful education-literature, music, cultural history, traditional folk principle is impeccable. Rangpur is a modified form of Rongpur. The eastern part of the seat is called Bandre or Varendra.

This division's old name is Ranggamahal. Ranggamahal means the ancient kings of the Bengal area spent their time enjoying dance or some kinds of other recreation. From then, the place was known as Ranggapur. And in the flow of time, it has changed to Rangpur.

This heritage city is also an industrial hub. Rangpur is famous for tobacco cultivation.

Famous industries include dhuri(cotton carpet), bidis, cigarettes, and cigars. Rangpur also produces a large quantity of paddy-jute-potato and Haribhanga mango in abundance.

Mineral resources are of immense importance in the economic development of any country. As such, although the Rangpur district does not have significant mineral resources, coal has been found in Khalashpir of Pirganj and copper has been found in Ranipukur of Mithapukur.

Rangpur was constituted as a municipality in 1869.

Literature and Culture: Rangpur's history, traditions, literature, language, and culture are ancient and rich. 

Ancient Landmarks and Places to Visit: Carmichael University College Building, Payarabande Begum Rokeya's House, Manthana Zamindar's House, Kermatia Mosque, Rangpur Museum, Maulana Karamat Ali Jainpuri's (R.D.) Shrine, Hazrat Shahjalal Bokhari's Shrine, Tajhat Zamindar's House, Qutub Shah's Shrine, Raipur Zamindarbari, ruins of Raja Nilambar's house at Patgram, Chandanhat Hari Temple, Dimla Raj Kali Temple, and Mithapukur which have been excavated during the Mughal period.

Apart from that, there are many visiting places like Teesta Barrage, Otherworld Park, Rangpur Zoo, Ghaghat Prayas Park, Chikley Bill and Park, Hati Bandha Mazar Sharif, town hall, Swashat Bengal Liberation War Museum, Dewanbari is the house of the zamindar, Dreamy.
