Chattogram

Chittagong city is like a little paradise full of natural beauty with all the hills and mountains wrapped in a green sheet.

This city is officially called Chattogram. Its historical name was Islamabad. It was noted as one of the largest Eastern ports by the Roman geographers in the 1st century.

The city was built on the banks of the Karnaphuli River, which ends nearby, in the Bay of Bengal. Chittagong is Bangladesh's second-largest city and the country's largest port. 

Chittagong is called the land of Bar Aulia and it is also said that Pir Badar Aulia was the main figure of the early Islamic culture of Chittagong. In any case, the role of Panch Badr as the pioneer figure in spreading the message of holy Islam and establishing Muslim rule in history is immense. There is a popular song in Chittagong - "We are Polapine, Gazi has Niqabain, With the Ganga in his veins- Five elders! Badr, badr, badr".

Chittagong is remarkable for many beautiful hillocks within the town. The court buildings are situated on one of these hillocks. This city is full of different people of different ethnicities. Most people came for trading from different nations. These nations include Arabs, Portuguese, Afghans, and Mughals. 

Some have descended from Portuguese settlers who arrived after the arrival of Muslims in this region. Most of the Portuguese descendants live in the enclave of Paterghatta, which is a part of the unique cultural experience of Chittagong.

Chittagong is a major traffic station. It is linked by rail and road with Dhaka, Comilla, and Feni (all to the northeast) and by air with Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar (to the southwest), and several international destinations, including Kolkata, Muscat (in Oman), and Dubai (in the United Arab Emirates).

Nowadays, Chittagong is well-known for many things. There is rich biodiversity, it has the 2nd biggest ship-breaking yard in the world, the country’s main center for trade and shipping, the first Export Processing Zone (EPZ), fishing industry centered around the massive port, a big Railway workshop at Pahartali, Steel Mills, fertilizer factory and oil refinery. Many other mills and factories and business centers have added much to the importance of the port city, and many visiting Sights.

The sight name's- The Ethnological Museum, Dulahazra Safari Park, Butterfly Park Bangladesh, Bistaar: Chittagong Arts Complex, Chittagong Zoo, Shishu Park, Central Bazar, MA Aziz Stadium, Beaches of Cox’s Bazar, Neval Beach, Foy’s Lake, Boga Lake, Patenga Beach, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Khoiyachora Falls, Batali Hills Park, Chandanpura Mosque, Adhar Manik Shanti Niketan Buddhist Monastery, Kaibalyadham, Ram Thakur Ashram.

Chittagong is also the main influential center of Islamic ideology, art, and architecture in Bangladesh. There are many excellent educational facilities in this city. Besides being a center of trade, it is also one of the main hubs for the education and culture of the country.
